As UX / UI designer you will measure and optimise applications to improve ease of use (usability) and create the best user experience by exploring many different approaches to solve end-user problems. One way that a UX designer might do this is by conducting in-person user tests to observe behaviour. They then refine and tweak apps, software and websites to create products that people like and find easy to use.
Responsibilities
- considering existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness
- considering the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design
- using online tools, such as screen readers, to aid their research
- running user testing of applications, software and websites
- defining interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications
- communicating scenarios (hypothetical users), end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to other people working on a product
- Keep the interface beautiful and easy to use
- Manage visual appearance of all new features and enhancements on our software and mobile applications
- Initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience
- Design elegant solutions to complex workflows and things that people will talk about

Requirements and Tech Stack
Must have work experience:
- 4+ years of experience providing User Experience and User Interface design solutions for web and mobile applications
- Strong knowledge in conducting user research and usability testing
- lid User Experience skills in wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and personas
- Excellent knowledge of User Centred Design process and usability principles
- Strong User Interface skills (design patterns, iconography, imagery production, etc)
- Excel level skills in standard design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Visio, Axure, etc)
- Able to generate multiple User Experience solutions for a given problem
- Good knowledge and understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, DHTML, etc…)
Software development experience:
- Practical understanding of agile methodology (Scrum or Kanban)
- Practical experience with software development methodologies, implementations, and asset management
- Experience with implementation, maintenance and scalability of custom design system tools and solutions
Common requirements:
- Strong experience of working in a UX designer or similar
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team across multiple locations
- Provide excellent service to Development, Sales and Marketing teams
- Work well under pressure, able to prioritise work load
- Excellent time management, able to hit deadlines
- Be a recognised expert on core product features
- Able to identify risks and issues, and provide solutions to mitigate
- Ability to work outside normal hours when needed to support critical activities or deadlines
- Fluent English and French communication skills
